Greenville County Seeks Public Input on Future Oakland Plantation Park in Simpsonville
March 31, 2026Greenville County is inviting residents to help shape the future of one of Simpsonville’s most historic properties as plans move forward to transform Oakland Plantation into a public park.
Located on Adams Mill Road in Simpsonville, the Oakland Plantation site spans more than 50 acres and is being considered for a regional park designed to balance preservation with recreation. The property includes a historic home dating back to the early 1800s along with several outbuildings, offering a rare opportunity to protect local history while creating a meaningful community space.
Greenville County Parks, Recreation & Tourism has launched a public input survey to gather feedback from residents as part of the early planning process. Community members are encouraged to share their thoughts on desired amenities, accessibility, preservation priorities, and the overall vision for the park.
Residents can submit feedback through the official survey at:

County officials have emphasized that public input will play a key role in shaping the master plan for the site.
In addition to the online survey, Greenville County is expected to host community engagement opportunities, including public meetings, as the planning process progresses. At this time, no confirmed meeting date or time has been publicly announced, but updates are expected to be shared through official county channels.
The vision for Oakland Plantation centers on preserving the property’s historical significance while creating a passive-use park that can be enjoyed by the growing population in the Simpsonville and Five Forks areas. Early discussions suggest features such as walking trails, open green space, and educational elements that highlight the site’s history.
As Greenville County continues to grow, the future park at Oakland Plantation is expected to become a valuable asset—offering both a connection to the past and a place for the community to gather and enjoy the outdoors.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the survey and stay engaged as plans move forward.
