Laurens County Chamber Announces Courtney Stonell as Full-Time Tourism Director, Opens New Affiliate Role
March 31, 2026The Laurens County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Courtney Stonell has accepted the full-time position of Director of Tourism, effective May 4, 2026.
Courtney has served in this role on a part-time basis for the past six months, following the departure of the previous Director, Christian Taylor, in September 2025. During this time, she has provided strong leadership and continuity for tourism efforts across Laurens County, and the Chamber is excited to see her step into the position full-time.
Courtney has also made a lasting impact through her work with Keep Laurens County Beautiful (KLCB), where she served as the organization’s first Affiliate Coordinator. In that role, she led significant progress in education initiatives, beautification projects, grant acquisitions, litter prevention, and community awareness efforts—helping elevate both visibility and engagement throughout the county.
As Director of Tourism, Courtney will oversee all aspects of Visit Laurens, SC and work closely with Discover, SC and Laurens County Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department to promote the area as a destination. She is passionate about showcasing the unique assets that make Laurens County special.
“Laurens County has so much to offer,” said Stonell. “From the energy and growth in Laurens and Clinton to the charm and character of our smaller communities like Cross Hill and Waterloo—we have so much to be proud of. I’m excited to step into this role full-time and continue building on the momentum we’ve created, while highlighting the people, places, and experiences that make our county so special.”
As she transitions into her new role, Courtney will continue to work closely with the incoming KLCB Affiliate Coordinator to ensure a smooth and successful transition. This collaborative approach will provide continuity and continued momentum for KLCB’s important work. “We are thrilled to have Courtney step into this role full-time,” said Dabs Davis, President of the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce. “Over the past few years, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and passion for Laurens County. Her ability to connect tourism, community development, and beautification efforts makes her uniquely qualified for this position. We are confident she will elevate Visit Laurens, SC to new heights while continuing to support the important work of KLCB during this transition.”
The Chamber will begin accepting applications for the KLCB Affiliate Coordinator position through April 17, 2026. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and two references to [email protected]. The full job description is available at www.laurenscounty.org/klcb.
