Sippin’ in Simpsonville: Summer Beer Tasting Returns to Downtown This May
April 1, 2026The Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce has officially announced the return of one of the Upstate’s most anticipated summer traditions. Sippin’ in Simpsonville’s Summer Beer Tasting, presented by Papa’s & Beer, is set to take over the downtown district on Friday, May 29.
The event, which typically draws over 1,000 attendees, transforms downtown Simpsonville into a vibrant craft beer tour, allowing ticket holders to explore local shops while sampling seasonal brews from across the region.
A Tour of the Golden Strip
This year’s route is expected to feature more than 30 participating businesses along Main Street and Curtis Street. Each “tasting stop” will host a different local or regional brewery, pouring 2oz. samples for guests as they navigate the walkable route.
In addition to the beer, the festival atmosphere will be rounded out by live music performances at various points along the trail, local snacks provided by participating vendors, and unique retail opportunities at Simpsonville’s downtown boutiques.
New for 2026: The VIP Experience
While the standard tasting tour has long been a favorite, organizers are introducing an enhanced VIP Ticket option for 2026. VIP guests will enjoy an early start to their evening, with check-in beginning at 5:30 p.m.—thirty minutes before the general public.
VIP tickets also include exclusive perks, though the Chamber notes that even the regular tickets provide a comprehensive experience, including all tastings and a commemorative 2026 tasting glass.

Community Impact and Safety
The Sippin’ series—which also includes a popular wine tasting in the fall—serves as a major economic driver for the downtown area, introducing residents from Mauldin, Fountain Inn, and beyond to the growing retail and dining scene in Simpsonville.
Organizers remind attendees that this is a rain-or-shine event and is strictly for those 21 and older. No children or pets are permitted within the tasting areas. For those looking to make a night of it, the Chamber has partnered with several local hotels to offer discounted Sippin rates for out-of-town guests or locals wanting a staycation.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Chamber is also seeking volunteers to assist with check-in, supply distribution, and event setup. Those who volunteer for a two-hour shift will receive a commemorative t-shirt and a regular guest ticket to use before or after their shift.
