BridgeWay Brewing Joins Reedy River Duck Derby to Support Local Upstate Charities
April 7, 2026The local craft beer scene is teaming up with a Greenville tradition for a cause that hits close to home. BridgeWay Brewing Co., located in the heart of the Bridgeway Station development, has announced its participation in the 2026 Reedy River Duck Derby. The brewery will serve as a key partner for the event, with a focus on ensuring that the proceeds from the day continue to support vital non-profit organizations across the Upstate.
The Reedy River Duck Derby, an annual staple organized by the Rotary Club of the Reedy River Greenville, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 2nd, at Falls Park. As one of the region’s most anticipated spring fundraisers, the event sees thousands of rubber ducks race down the Reedy River, all to raise money for community service projects.
Brewing for a Better Community
For BridgeWay Brewing, joining the ranks of local sponsors is a natural extension of its mission to be a community hub for Mauldin and the surrounding areas. By participating in the Derby, the brewery is helping to fuel a fundraising engine that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities over the last two decades.
-
100% for Charity: As with every year, the Rotary Club has pledged that 100% of the Derby’s profits will be distributed back to local non-profits. Past beneficiaries have included organizations like the Mauldin Miracle League, United Ministries, and several youth development programs.
-
Service Above Self: BridgeWay’s involvement underscores the motto of the Rotary Club, bringing together local business owners and residents to address critical issues like poverty, hunger, and children at risk.
-
The Grand Prize: While the charity impact is the main focus, participants who adopt a duck still have a chance to win the grand prize of groceries for a year, along with dozens of other local prizes.
How to Participate and Support the Cause
Residents of the Golden Strip can get involved in several ways to ensure the 2026 Derby is the most successful one yet.
-
Adopt a Duck: You can officially adopt your racing duck online at the Reedy River Duck Derby portal. Single adoptions or multi-duck packs are available, with every dollar going toward the charitable grant pool.
-
Visit the Park: The event at Falls Park is free to spectate. The ducks are scheduled to be released from the Liberty Bridge at approximately 2:30 PM on May 2nd.
-
Support Local Sponsors: By visiting businesses like BridgeWay Brewing that sponsor the event, you are supporting the local economic engine that makes these large-scale fundraisers possible.
Impact Beyond the River
The funds raised during the May 2nd event will be distributed later this year following a careful grant application process conducted by the Rotary Club. This ensures that the money stays within the Upstate, providing much-needed resources for organizations that serve the Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Fountain Inn communities.
BridgeWay Brewing’s presence at the Derby is a reminder that the Golden Strip’s influence continues to grow, stretching into the heart of downtown Greenville to support the causes that matter most to local families.
