The Strada Education Foundation has named Denmark Technical College students Anthony Muldrow and Darius Jenkins as Strada Scholars. As part of the program, both students recently attended the Strada Scholars Leadership Summit, held in Dallas, Texas.

The national summit brought together more than 400 students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Predominantly Black Institutions for a weekend focused on leadership development, professional engagement and career readiness. The experience is part of the Strada HBCU Leadership Initiative, a program designed to support student success through scholarships, mentorship and workforce preparation opportunities.

“Our Strada Scholars embody the talent, discipline and promise we see across Denmark Technical College. Experiences like this help our students innovate, elevate and transform into confident leaders ready for the workforce,” said Eric Brown, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer.

“The Strada Scholars program gives students access to meaningful leadership development and industry engagement,” added Hadi Hamid, Ph.D., vice president for workforce development and continuing education. “Anthony and Darius are gaining the skills and exposure needed to thrive beyond the classroom.”

The summit provided students with workshops, networking sessions and collaborative activities designed to strengthen communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills. Participants also engaged with industry professionals and peers from across the country.

Anthony Muldrow said, “Being selected as a Strada Scholar and attending the summit gave me the opportunity to grow as a leader and connect with other students who are driven to succeed. The experience helped me better understand how to prepare for my future career.”

“The summit pushed me to think differently about my goals and how to achieve them. I learned valuable skills and gained confidence in my ability to step into leadership roles,” Darius Jenkins added.

The Strada HBCU Leadership Initiative continues to invest in Denmark Technical College students by providing scholarship support and access to career-connected learning experiences that help reduce financial barriers and strengthen pathways to completion.

“The support from the Strada Education Foundation directly impacts our students by expanding access to opportunity and easing financial barriers,” Brown said. “We are grateful for their continued partnership and commitment to student success.”
