Celebrate Mother Nature at Brookgreen Gardens’ Earth Day Festival

April 7, 2026

Brookgreen Gardens will host its annual Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 18, offering families a day of environmental education and outdoor “Party for the Planet” festivities.

The event runs from 11 am to 3 pm at the Leonard Pavilion. The festival is free for members and included with general garden admission for non-members.

“This exciting, family-friendly event is filled with engaging activities and educational experiences for all ages,” organizers said.

Adults can attend sessions on the importance of native plants, conservation practices, and sustainable “Go Green” habits, such as responsible recycling. For children, the festival features hands-on nature crafts, interactive yard games, and activities designed to spark curiosity about the natural world.

Festival Highlights:
Activity Stations: Guests can participate in pot decorating, creating native seed packets, making Earth Day buttons, and indigo dyeing.

Community Partners: Experts from Huntington Beach State Park, Hobcaw Barony, and Clemson University’s Baruch Institute will be on-site to share conservation insights.

Family Fun: The day includes face painting and a special appearance by the CCU Theatre group.

Located at 1931 Brookgreen Drive, Brookgreen Gardens is a 9,127-acre preserve that combines art, nature, and history. For more information on the Earth Day Festival or to purchase tickets, visit brookgreen.org.
