“These tryouts are an important part of how we identify and develop talent across the Upstate,” said Zach Price, general manager and sporting director for Greenville Triumph SC and Greenville Liberty SC. “Creating accessible opportunities like this is central to our mission—both in building strong teams and continuing to invest in the next generation of players in our community.”
The U20 teams compete in the USL Academy League and are designed to bridge the gap between youth and professional soccer, providing players with high-level competition, exposure, and a clear pathway within the Greenville Pro Soccer organization.
As part of the clubs’ broader commitment to investing in communities across the Upstate, the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty continue to create meaningful opportunities for players to engage with the game, develop their skills, and pursue advancement within the sport.
Community tryouts and academy pathways have already produced players such as Elle Bissinger (JL Mann High School, Clemson), Emma Kirlin (Wade Hampton High School, University of South Carolina), and Payton Nutzman (Eastside High School, Mercer University), who have advanced to compete with the Greenville Liberty at the pre-professional level.
