Laurens County First Steps to Host Free Child Abuse Prevention Community Event at The Ridge

Laurens County First Steps is inviting the community to come together in support of children and families during its upcoming Abuse Prevention & Celebrating Safe Children Free Community Event on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Ridge, 301 Exchange Road in Laurens.
Held in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, the event aims to raise awareness about child abuse prevention while celebrating the importance of creating safe, healthy environments for children throughout Laurens County.
The free, family-friendly event will feature a variety of activities and resources for attendees, including:

Laurens County First Steps is encouraging families, businesses, and community partners to attend and help shine a light on the importance of child abuse prevention.
“Every child matters” is the message behind the event, which organizers hope will both educate and inspire the community to play an active role in protecting children and strengthening families.
April is recognized nationally as Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness that child abuse is preventable and that strong communities play a critical role in ensuring children grow up in safe, nurturing environments.
