Learn Nature Journaling at Paris Mountain State Park This April

April 13, 2026

Nature lovers, writers, and aspiring artists are invited to slow down and connect with the outdoors during a special Nature Journaling program at Paris Mountain State Park on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Hosted by South Carolina State Parks, the guided experience will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and offers participants the chance to explore the park while learning how to capture moments in nature through creative writing, sketching, and reflective journaling.

The session will begin in the park center classroom with an introduction to the fundamentals of nature journaling before participants head out on a 0.75-mile guided walk around Lake Placid. Along the route, attendees will stop periodically to observe their surroundings, sketch what they see, and record their thoughts and reflections.

The cost to participate is $10 per person, plus park admission. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.

Those interested in attending can reserve their spot online here.

This program offers a unique opportunity for individuals of all skill levels to engage with nature in a creative and mindful way while enjoying one of the Upstate’s most scenic outdoor destinations.
