HGTC leads South Carolina Technical College System in spring enrollment growth with 9.8% increase

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is leading the South Carolina Technical College System in enrollment growth for Spring 2026, achieving the largest headcount increase among all 16 technical colleges, representing a 9.8% rise over the previous year.
This milestone reflects a continued upward trajectory for the College, building on sustained enrollment growth over the past several years and reinforcing HGTC’s role as a primary driver of workforce development and educational access in the region.

The Spring 2026 enrollment increase highlights the College’s strategic focus on expanding academic programs, strengthening transfer pathways, and aligning workforce training with high-demand industries across Horry and Georgetown counties. HGTC continues to provide flexible learning options, including online, hybrid, and short-term workforce credentials, designed to meet students where they are.
