City of Charleston offers six new affordable townhomes through first-time homebuyer program
April 14, 2026The City of Charleston announced the availability of six newly constructed townhomes on Juniper Street. Each home is approximately 1,100 square feet and features two bedrooms, each with a private ensuite bathroom, including a powder room on the main floor.
The homes are thoughtfully designed with modern finishes, including stainless steel appliances, luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout, quartz countertops, oversized windows, contemporary lighting, and crown molding.
Closings are currently underway, with move-in anticipated in April.
With a $60,000 City subsidy applied, these townhomes will be offered at a sales price of just under $289,000.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Earn between $62,160-$93,240 annually (which reflects 80%-120% of the Area Median Income (AMI))
- Provide $2,500 in earnest money
- Complete a homebuyer education workshop
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the City’s housing portal at:

The Juniper Street development is part of the City’s First-Time Homebuyer Program, which is designed to expand access to attainable homeownership opportunities.
