The Scholarship Coordinator is responsible for administering and managing institutional, state, and merit-based scholarship programs. This role supports the Office of Financial Aid by ensuring accurate processing, compliance with South Carolina state scholarship regulations, and effective communication with students and stakeholders. The coordinator also assists the Assistant Director of Financial Aid Scholarships and delivers presentations on financial aid. This position is under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Scholarships, and responsible for processing, and awarding athletic aid; Verification of data for selected student aid applications and performs financial counseling for student and parents.

• Award, monitors, and updates Athletic aid; processes athletic notifications from the Financial Aid Office.
• Performs verification on a selected alphabet of students, collecting documents and updating system for transmittal to Central Processing System (CPS).
• Backup for systems manager when needed to send daily reports to staff and adding them to the shared files.
• Conducts financial aid presentations at outreach events to educate prospective students and families on funding options and application processes.
• Assists with awarding State Scholarships in accordance with regulations as prescribed by the Commission of Higher Education (CHE).
• Assists with awarding State Scholarship enhancements in accordance with State guidelines.
• Assists with administration of USC Upstate scholarships programs, USC Upstate Foundation Scholarships, and posting of outside scholarship information for Financial Aid Resources.
• Works with HR to verify students for work-study; ensures funds awarded correctly in Banner.
• Assist with surveys and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a job-related field and 1 or more years of job-related experience. A successful background check is required.

Salary Range: $40,269 – $44,651; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
