Handcrafted Heritage: Simpsonville Studio to Host Mother-Daughter Pottery Workshop

April 18, 2026

Local residents looking for a creative way to celebrate Mother’s Day can now trade traditional bouquets for pottery tools. A special Mother’s Day Clay Workshop has been announced at the Whitehall Plantation studio on Fullerton Court, offering a hands-on experience in the art of handbuilding.

The session focuses on creating custom floral-painted jewelry trays using non-wheel techniques, ensuring the craft is accessible to creators of all skill levels.

A Multigenerational Experience

Designed as a “Mother and Daughter” style event, the workshop is open to participants ages 6 and up. Organizers emphasize that the class isn’t just for young children; adult mother-and-daughter duos are also encouraged to attend together to share in the creative process.

To ensure personalized attention, the workshop is limited to a small group setting with a maximum of seven participants. Each attendee will craft their own individual jewelry tray from start to finish.

The Artistic Process

The all-inclusive registration covers instruction, ceramic tools, clay, and glazes. Participants will shape their trays and apply floral designs during the session. Following the workshop, the pieces undergo a multi-step finishing process:

  • Drying & Glazing: Pieces are air-dried and coated in a professional clear glaze.

  • Kiln Firing: The trays are fired in a kiln to ensure durability.

  • Completion: Finished items will be functional, food-safe, and ready for pickup approximately three weeks after the event.

Registration Details

Because of the intimate class size, early enrollment is encouraged. Tickets are sold individually—for example, a mother attending with two daughters would require three spots.

  • Location: Whitehall Plantation Studio, Fullerton Ct., Simpsonville, SC

  • Policy: Due to the preparation of materials and limited seating, no refunds or exchanges are available once a ticket is purchased.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity for Simpsonville families to step away from the digital world and create a lasting, functional heirloom in a quiet, community-centered atmosphere.
