Homes of Hope named 2026 Organization of the Year

April 20, 2026

Presented by the South Carolina Housing Finance and Development Authority

Homes of Hope has been named the 2026 Organization of the Year by the South Carolina Housing Finance and Development Authority, a prestigious honor recognizing not only excellence in the past year but also a sustained legacy of impact in advancing affordable housing solutions across South Carolina.

The award was presented during the South Carolina Affordable Housing Summit, held in Columbia this April. The Organization of the Year distinction celebrates an organization whose body of work demonstrates long-term commitment, innovation, and measurable impact in addressing housing needs.

“This recognition speaks to more than a single year. It reflects decades of consistent, meaningful work to address one of our community’s most pressing challenges,” said Don Oglesby, CEO of Homes of Hope. “We are honored to be recognized by SC Housing and remain committed to building strong foundations for individuals and families through affordable housing and workforce development.”
For more than 27 years, Homes of Hope has advanced a model that combines the development of quality, affordable housing with a workforce development program for men overcoming drug and alcohol addictions. Through this dual-impact approach, the organization not only increases access to stable housing but also creates pathways for men to rebuild their lives, secure employment, and contribute to their communities.

Being named Organization of the Year underscores Homes of Hope’s long-standing leadership in addressing housing challenges while delivering lasting, measurable impact across the state.
