The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli, a nationally celebrated and award-winning concept born in Columbia, South Carolina, is bringing its iconic cinnamon rolls and elevated comfort menu to Lexington. The new location will open in the former Café Strudel space, a beloved Midlands institution, marking a significant milestone for one of the region’s most crave-worthy dining destinations.
Founded in 2016, and known for its oversized, handcrafted cinnamon rolls and creative breakfast and lunch offerings, The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli has built a loyal following well beyond Columbia while earning national recognition from People Magazine, Food Network, and Southern Living. The concept has also been recognized with distinctions like Best Bakery in South Carolina (BuzzFeed & Yelp) and Best Cinnamon Roll in the US (The Takeout)—cementing its reputation as a must-visit destination both locally and nationally.
At the heart of the brand is founder and co-owner Jody Kreush, whose journey began in her grandmother’s New York kitchen, where she discovered the power of food to bring people together. That passion led to a career in hospitality and the creation of The Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli, alongside her youngest son, Richard. Built on family recipes, hands-on experience, and a shared commitment to quality and care, the deli quickly grew from a personal dream into one of South Carolina’s most talked-about dining concepts.
