Presbyterian College Choir to Present “America’s Anthem: 250 Years in Song”
April 22, 2026The Presbyterian College Choir and PC Vocal Select will take the stage Sunday, April 26, at 4:00 p.m. in Belk Auditorium for a concert celebrating 250 years of American music. “America’s Anthem: 250 Years in Song” promises to be an emotional and stirring journey through the nation’s history as told through some of its most significant composers.
The performance will move audiences through the triumphs and struggles that have shaped the American story — from the darkest chapters of the nation’s past to songs of hope and vision for the future.
“The stories told through song will take you through some of the darkest times of our past, the victories that defined us, and the dreams for bright days ahead in our future as a nation,” said Kipper Ackerman, Director of Choral Activities and Visual and Performing Arts Liaison at Presbyterian College.
Audiences can expect a concert that is equal parts moving and energizing — one that may have them tapping their feet one moment and reaching for a tissue the next.
Featured Soloists
Two soloists will take the spotlight during the performance. JaNya Austin, a senior from Miami, Florida, and Carter Hill, a freshman from St. Mary’s, Georgia, will each bring their voices to this celebration of American musical heritage.
