Elizabeth Kackley to lead North Charleston Elementary
April 21, 2026Charleston County School District (CCSD) announced the appointment of Elizabeth Kackley as Principal of North Charleston Elementary School, effective July 1, 2026. Ms. Kackley brings more than two decades of experience in Charleston County schools, with a strong background in instructional leadership, student support, and school improvement.
Ms. Kackley most recently served as principal of Oakland Elementary, where she has led all aspects of the school’s instructional program and daily operations, including staff development, student achievement, and school safety. In this role, she oversaw Title I implementation, ensured compliance with district and state guidelines, and used data to drive instructional decisions and improve student outcomes, contributing to Oakland earning an Excellent rating on its School Report Card.
Prior to that, Ms. Kackley served as assistant principal at Belle Hall Elementary, supporting a school of more than 700 students. She coached teachers on curriculum and differentiation, conducted classroom observations with actionable feedback, and helped lead school improvement efforts that contributed to a strong, successful learning environment.
Ms. Kackley’s experience also includes serving as an Emotional Disabilities itinerant teacher with CCSD’s Office of Student Support Services, where she developed individualized behavior plans, partnered closely with teachers and families, and provided professional development to support student success.
