MetroConnects Unveils Massive New 23-Acre Campus in Mauldin
April 22, 2026In a move signaling significant infrastructure investment for the Upstate, MetroConnects officially opened its expansive new headquarters on Monday morning. The ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1151 W. Butler Road marks a major milestone for Greenville County’s primary wastewater collection provider.
The new 23-acre campus is designed to consolidate operations and enhance the utility’s ability to serve a rapidly growing population. Local officials and community leaders joined MetroConnects staff—and even a spirited mascot—to celebrate the opening of the state-of-the-art facility.
Supporting Regional Growth
As Greenville County continues to see record-breaking residential and commercial development, the strain on public utilities has increased. MetroConnects plays a vital role in this ecosystem, managing the collection systems that protect public health and preserve local water resources.
The City of Mauldin expressed strong support for the relocation, noting that the new campus will allow for the “highest levels of service” as the region expands.
“This new campus will allow MetroConnects to continue ensuring the highest levels of service as the region grows,” the City of Mauldin stated in a congratulatory announcement. “We look forward to a successful partnership in the years ahead.”
A Commitment to the Environment
Beyond its administrative functions, the new Mauldin campus serves as a hub for the organization’s environmental protection efforts. By modernizing their physical footprint, MetroConnects aims to streamline maintenance and emergency response times across its vast collection network.
The ceremony on Monday included remarks from leadership emphasizing the organization’s mission of environmental stewardship and its commitment to keeping the Upstate’s waterways clean.
What This Means for Residents
While the new facility is primarily an operational and administrative hub, the centralized location on West Butler Road is expected to improve internal efficiencies. For Mauldin and the surrounding “Golden Strip” communities, the presence of a major utility headquarters brings both jobs and a reinforced commitment to local infrastructure stability.
