Mauldin Teens to Master “Money Concepts” at Upcoming Financial Literacy Workshop

April 22, 2026

Local teenagers will have the opportunity to build a solid financial foundation next week during a specialized workshop hosted by Sharonview Federal Credit Union. The “Money Concepts for Teens” session is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mauldin Rotary Room.

While open to all area teenagers, the event is specifically tailored toward the homeschool community, providing a practical elective in financial education that often falls outside of traditional curriculum.

Investing in the Future

Financial literacy has become an increasingly critical skill for young adults entering a complex economy. The upcoming workshop aims to demystify personal finance through an interactive format designed to keep teens engaged.

The curriculum for the session covers several key areas of money management:

  • Smart Saving & Budgeting: Developing habits to track spending and prioritize savings.

  • Effective Management Skills: Understanding how to navigate bank accounts and credit responsibly.

  • Goal Setting: Learning the mechanics of setting—and actually achieving—long-term financial objectives.

Community Support

The workshop is being offered free of charge to the public. To make the midday session more convenient for busy families, Sharonview Federal Credit Union will also be providing lunch for all registered attendees.

“Come on out to the Mauldin Rotary Room for a FREE homeschool teen financial literacy program!” shared Veronica Apisa in a community announcement. “LUNCH PROVIDED!”

How to Register

The event will be held at 101 E. Butler Road, centrally located in Mauldin. Due to the interactive nature of the program and the provision of lunch, organizers are requesting that interested families RSVP in advance to reserve a spot.
