2026 SC primary elections
April 28, 2026Registration Deadlines and Early Voting Locations
The 2026 South Carolina Primary Elections will be Tuesday, June 9, 2026. To vote, state law requires a person to register at least 30 days prior to an election. Voters do not register by political party in South Carolina and may vote in either primary election, but not both.
Voter Registration Deadlines:
- Deadline to register in person is Friday, May 8 at 5 p.m.
- Deadline to register online, by fax or email is Sunday, May 10 at 11:59 p.m.
- Deadline to register by mail is Monday, May 11 (must be postmarked by this date).
How to Register:
- Register to vote in person at the Berkeley County Voter Registration and Elections Office (1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner)
- Register online at scVOTES.gov
- Download a voter registration form from the South Carolina Election Commission HERE and return your completed form by:

To verify you are registered and your information is accurate, visit the Berkeley County Voter Registration and Elections website or www.scvotes.gov. If you are registered to vote but recently moved, you must update your address.
Early Voting: The early voting period for Statewide Primaries will be Tuesday, May 26 – Friday, June 5. Berkeley County voters can cast their ballots anytime 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday at the following locations:
- American Legion Hut: 180 Ravenell Drive, St. Stephen, SC 29479
- Berkeley County Voter Registration & Elections Office: 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner, SC 29461
- Daniel Island Library: 2301 Daniel Island Drive, Daniel Island, SC 29492
- Goose Creek Library: 325 Old Moncks Corner Road, Goose Creek, SC 29445
- Hanahan Library: 1216 Old Murray Court, Hanahan, SC 29410
- Sangaree Library: 595 Sangaree Parkway, Summerville, SC 29486
Absentee Voting: The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for the Primaries is May 29 at 5 p.m. Completed ballots must be returned by June 9 at 7 p.m. Learn about absentee voting in South Carolina, including who is eligible, HERE.
