The Spirit We Move With documentary up for a Shorty Award
May 4, 2026The Spirit We Move With, a documentary focused on Hilton Head Island’s Gullah community, has won “Best Documentary Short” at the Columbus International Film & Animation Festival and has also been selected as a finalist for the 18th Annual Shorty Awards. The movie has also been showcased at seven film festivals across the country and in London.
The documentary was produced by seventh-generation Gullah resident and local business owner of Binya Boutique Lola Campbell, in partnership with the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. A trailer and a recap of the movie can be found here
