Laurens Electric Awards Community Impact Grant to Mount Zion Baptist Church Food Pantry

May 11, 2026

Laurens Electric Cooperative presented one of its Community Impact Initiative grants to the Mount Zion Baptist Church Food Pantry during the Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet April 17.

The food pantry serves approximately 250 community members in need each week, distributing a variety of fresh foods and canned goods. The grant will fund the purchase of freezers and coolers, enabling the pantry to store and serve a greater volume of perishable items.

Laurens Electric’s Community Impact Initiative awards grants of up to $2,000 to organizations that enrich the quality of life for citizens in the communities the cooperative serves. Funding for the program comes from Laurens Electric’s annual charity events.

Community members may apply through their local Chambers of Commerce in Laurens, Mauldin, Simpsonville and Fountain Inn. For more information about the program, visit laurenselectric.com/grant.
