Georgetown Tidal Tales seeking locals to share their unique Georgetown story at June show

May 13, 2026

Georgetown Tidal Tales will present its next show on Saturday, June 13 at 6:30 pm at the historic Winyah Auditorium. The theme for the second show of its annual season plays into the ongoing celebration of America’s 250th anniversary with Georgetown: This Land is Your Land.

According to Tidal Tales Executive Director Janet Fricke, the show will feature six local citizens telling true, five-minute stories on all aspects of Georgetown. And she’s looking for unique stories that will entertain and enlighten the audience about our community.

“Did you grow up here? Did you choose to live here? Did you have an interesting, uniquely Georgetown experience you’d like to share?  YOU could be one of our featured storytellers,” Fricke explained. “We are currently accepting applications for consideration for our June show.”

To apply, complete the application form and share your unique Georgetown story. If your submission is selected, the producers will notify you.

Selected storytellers will attend a practice session and receive coaching to help them prepare for the performance. During the show, each storyteller shares their story from memory, without notes.

This one-of-a-kind live theater event also features the piano-playing talents of Tom Santopietro, which helps set the mood for this festive evening of entertainment. Fricke promises, “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll think, and you’ll definitely be entertained!”

Tickets are just $10 and are available at the door or online.  All proceeds from the show, after production costs, go to support The Outreach Farm, a local nonprofit which provides protein at no cost to organizations that feed the hungry across the Grand Strand.
