Historic Kickoff: GE Vernova Park Enters Final Stretch Ahead of Greenville Triumph Debut at BridgeWay Station
May 17, 2026The skyline of the Upstate’s most ambitious multi-use development is undergoing a major transformation as construction crews push to finalize GE Vernova Park, the brand-new stadium at BridgeWay Station. Anticipation is mounting across the region following the announcement that the stadium will officially open its gates to fans on Wednesday, June 3.
The $30 million, purpose-built multi-use stadium will serve as the permanent, year-round home for the professional men’s soccer team Greenville Triumph SC and the pre-professional women’s team Greenville Liberty SC.
Recent images from the site show significant progress on the stadium infrastructure, including the installation of the pristine green playing pitch, spectator grandstands, and the grand columns that mimic the European, old-world architecture of the surrounding BridgeWay Station plaza. Once complete, the venue will boast a seating capacity of 4,300, with a total capacity to accommodate up to 6,300 fans.
The highly anticipated home opener was initially planned for early May but was adjusted to June 3 to give the club ample time to finalize operational outfitting after severe winter weather slowed down technical installations earlier this year.
Club officials note that the adjusted timeline creates a historic backdrop for the franchise, as the stadium’s grand opening falls squarely during the week leading up to the global kickoff of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The team is already planning massive World Cup-themed celebrations to match the high-octane game-day energy.
“Lifestyle, walkability, food, sports, community—[this is] another reason the Upstate is becoming one of the best places to call home,” noted local real estate and community advocates tracking the progress.
Developed through a robust public-private partnership between Greenville Pro Soccer, Hughes Investments, the City of Mauldin, and the State of South Carolina, the stadium is envisioned as far more than just a soccer venue. Beyond the pitch, GE Vernova Park is being built to operate as a premier entertainment destination for the Upstate, slated to host live concerts, community festivals, youth sports, and marching band competitions.
Its strategic placement right at the center of BridgeWay Station allows fans a completely walkable experience, allowing families and supporters to gather at the development’s numerous retail shops, restaurants, and rooftop bars both before and long after the final whistle blows.
As crews put the finishing touches on the venue over the coming weeks, the City of Mauldin and stadium organizers are working closely to finalize regional traffic management, parking expansions, and pedestrian safety infrastructure. Tickets for the historic June 3 inaugural match are expected to draw a sellout crowd.
