Chernoff Newman garnered multiple honors at the South Carolina Public Relations Society of America (SCPRSA) Mercury Awards, held April 15, 2026, at Segra Park in Columbia.

The Mercury Awards celebrate the state’s top public relations campaigns, while Silver Wing Awards recognize excellence in tactics. This year’s recognition highlights Chernoff Newman’s ability to deliver integrated, strategic communications that drive meaningful impact for clients across South Carolina.

Chernoff Newman received a Mercury Award of Excellence in External Communications for the South Carolina Department of Agriculture Fresh on the Menu People’s Choice Awards, a campaign that engaged audiences across the state by allowing residents to nominate and select their favorite local spots committed to sourcing at least 25 percent of their ingredients from local farmers.

The agency also earned additional recognition for campaign and public service work, including a Mercury Award of Merit for the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina (ACEC-SC) Infrastructure Works Institute Economic Impact Study Launch (Public Service), translating complex infrastructure data into compelling, accessible insights for stakeholders and the public.

In addition to campaign recognition, Chernoff Newman was awarded two Silver Wing honors for outstanding tactical work:
-Silver Wing Award of Excellence (Video) for the South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities’ Office of Substance Use Services Doorbell Videos aimed at reducing stigma, highlighting recovery resources, and encouraging conversations between parents and children
-Silver Wing Award of Merit (Influencer Marketing) for the South Carolina Education Lottery 2025 Holiday Promotion, celebrating SCEL scratch-off tickets as festive, easy additions to adult holiday gifting

Collectively, Chernoff Newman earned five honors across campaign and tactical categories, reflecting the agency’s breadth of work across public service, consumer engagement and strategic communications.

“These awards reflect the strength of our client partnerships and our team’s commitment to delivering work that not only meets objectives but creates lasting impact,” said Erin Culbert, APR, Chernoff Newman’s Vice President of Public Relations. “We’re grateful for the trust our clients place in us to bring these big ideas to life.”

From public health messaging and data-driven storytelling to consumer engagement campaigns, this year’s winning work demonstrates Chernoff Newman’s ability to connect strategy, creativity and results.

As the communications landscape continues to evolve, Chernoff Newman remains focused on helping clients navigate complexity, tell meaningful stories and make a measurable difference.
