Redfish tournament to reel in anglers for Georgetown Habitat for Humanity benefit
May 21, 2026Professional anglers will hit the waters of Winyah Bay next month for the Hooked on Habitat Southern Redfish Cup, a competitive fishing tournament benefiting Habitat for Humanity for Georgetown County.
The single-day event, scheduled for June 13, 2026, will launch from the Carrol A. Campbell Marine Complex. Teams will compete under a strict three-fish-per-boat limit, with winners determined by the total combined weight of their catch.
Anglers can register for the professional division for a fee of $350 per team. An optional “Big Fish” competition is also available for an additional $100 entry fee. The tournament features an 80% payout for the top three finishing teams in the professional division, while the Big Fish category boasts a 95% payout. Additionally, competing teams will earn 50% points toward the yearly Southern Redfish Cup standings.
The festivities kick off on Friday, June 12, with a mandatory Captain’s Meeting from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Winyah Bay Brewing Company.
The registration deadline is June 12 at 6:00 PM and can be completed online. Proceeds from the event will support Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build affordable housing, communities, and hope in Georgetown County.
