Thornwell Community Counseling Offers Trauma-Informed Therapy for Individuals and Families
May 25, 2026Thornwell, the Clinton-based Christian ministry serving children and families for more than 150 years, offers a counseling program that brings professional, trauma-informed therapy to individuals of all ages across South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
Thornwell Community Counseling provides attachment-based therapy for adults, children, teens, and families, whether clients are seeking support for themselves, a child, or the whole family unit. The program operates on the belief that healing happens through connection, and therapists work to meet clients where they are.
Therapists use an attachment-based framework called Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), designed to help build trust, connection, and resilience while developing skills to regulate thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
The program offers virtual visits statewide, with in-person and in-home sessions available in specific counties. A school-based mental health counselor serves the Laurens area.
Thornwell Community Counseling is in-network with Medicaid and most major insurance plans and offers a free 15-minute consultation for those exploring whether the program is the right fit. Those interested can reach the office at (864) 659-2718 or learn more at thornwell.org.
