The Homeschool Magazine Launches Statewide ‘Beautiful South Carolina’ Photo Contest

June 8, 2026

Homeschooled students across the Palmetto State have a unique opportunity to showcase their artistic talents and capture the natural charm of their home state this summer. The Homeschool Magazine has officially launched its “Beautiful South Carolina Homeschool Photo Contest,” inviting amateur student photographers to submit their best local imagery.

The competition encourages students to explore their surroundings and document the diverse scenery of South Carolina, from the rolling hills of the Upstate to the coastal vistas of the Lowcountry.

Contest Rules and Guidelines

According to promotional materials released for the event, the competition is strictly open to South Carolina homeschool students. Organizers have established a clear set of criteria to ensure fair play and original work:

  • Eligibility: Participants must be actively homeschooled, and submissions are strictly limited to one entry per student.

  • Timing: All photographs must be taken during the summer of 2026, spanning from June through September.

  • Subject Matter: The photo must be captured within South Carolina. Permissible subjects include local landmarks, nature scenes, landscapes, and pets. However, organizers have noted a strict policy prohibiting people from being in the shot.

  • Skill Level: The contest is designed exclusively for amateur photographers. Submissions must be original and cannot have been entered into any other photography competition.

Submission Process and Deadlines

Students looking to enter the contest must email their photograph in a .jpg format to the designated coordinator address at [email protected].

When submitting, students must include the following details in their email:

  • Student’s name and age

  • Title of the photograph

  • The specific location within South Carolina where the photo was captured

  • A reliable contact email address

The final deadline for all digital submissions is September 15, 2026. Upon submission, all entries become the property of the The South Carolina Homeschool Accountability Association (TSCHAA) and may be featured on the organization’s website, social media channels, and future promotional materials.

Grand Prize Announced

In addition to state-level recognition, the first-place winner of the photography contest will receive a gift card to Better World Books, supporting their ongoing educational and reading endeavors.
