LCSD 55 Names Magon Wilson Principal of E.B. Morse Elementary School

Laurens County School District 55 has named Magon R. Wilson as principal of E.B. Morse Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. Wilson moves into the role from her position as assistant principal, a post she has held since July 2023.

During her time as assistant principal, Wilson reduced office referrals by 10% through proactive behavior systems and relationship-centered practices. She also increased positive office referrals by 137.14% through the implementation of recognition systems and behavior supports.

Wilson brings eighteen years of experience in education and an extensive academic background to the role. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Elementary Education from Anderson University in 2008 and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Anderson University in 2015. She later completed a Gifted and Talented Endorsement from Converse College in 2018 and a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning from Lander University in 2024. Her endorsements include Read to Succeed Literacy Teacher (2020), English for Speakers of Other Languages (2024), and LETRS Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (2026).

As a member of the E.B. Morse Instructional Leadership Team, Wilson has worked collaboratively with teachers to improve instruction and student outcomes. Her responsibilities have included co-planning, modeling instructional strategies, supporting behavior management systems, analyzing student data, serving as school testing coordinator, and helping teachers establish effective classroom procedures.

Prior to her work at E.B. Morse, Wilson served as a fifth-grade teacher at Hickory Tavern School from 2020 to 2023 and at Varennes Academy of Communications and Technology from 2015 to 2020. She also taught various grades at Laurens Elementary School from 2008 to 2012.

Wilson officially begins her role as principal on July 1, 2026.
