Ignite Creativity and Skills: Georgetown County 4-H announces exciting summer youth camps
June 11, 2026The Georgetown County 4-H Youth Development Program is firing up its summer lineup with three hands-on day camps designed to keep local youth engaged, learning, and creating. Ranging from culinary arts to creative crafting and food science, these affordable regional programs offer the perfect opportunity for kids ages 7 to 12 to build new skills and make lasting summer memories.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to register early, as spaces are limited for all three sessions.
Salads & Subs Summer Day Camp 
Kick off the summer with a two-day culinary adventure! This camp introduces youth to the exciting world of healthy cooking through interactive, hands-on experience. Campers will practice essential kitchen skills—like mixing, chopping, and tasting—while discovering the nutritional value of fresh ingredients. Working in groups, participants will collaborate to design and prepare their own delicious recipes.

The Art Spark Summer Day Camp 
Where shapes, colors, and community collide! This vibrant 2-day camp is designed to light up young minds and unlock artistic expression. Campers will explore a variety of mediums through painting, drawing, crafting, and creating. Note: Participants should pack a lunch each day.

A Youth Pickling Workshop: “Brine Time!” 
Get ready for a dill-lightful day of food science! This unique, hands-on workshop invites youth to explore kitchen safety, history, and the science of food preservation. Participants will learn the health benefits of pickled foods, experiment with different textures and flavors through engaging activities, and custom-craft their very own jar of homemade pickles to take home.
