World Cup Fever Prompts Date Changes for ‘The Mill Idol’ Karaoke Competition

June 15, 2026

World Cup tournament play is taking over the Upstate, forcing a popular local entertainment hub to completely restructure its summer event calendar.

Management at The Mill at Fountain Inn announced that the venue’s massive “The Mill Idol” karaoke competition is taking a brief summer hiatus due to scheduling overlaps with major international soccer matches. The influx of televised sporting events has prompted the facility to adjust several key qualifying dates and shift the tournament’s grand finale into late summer.

The Updated Summer Lineup

“The Mill Idol” format, which brings local all-ages vocalists together to compete for retail gift certificates, will resume regular play in late July. According to official scheduling updates released by the venue, the revised timeline includes:

  • June 13 Session: Rescheduled to Saturday, July 25

  • June 27 Session: Rescheduled to Saturday, August 1

  • July 11 Session: Rescheduled to Saturday, August 8

  • Grand Finale: Rescheduled to Saturday, August 8

Massive ‘No Stoppage Time’ Party Slated for June 19

The calendar shift allows the multi-use facility to prioritize its upcoming “No Stoppage Time World Cup Party,” a property-wide watch event scheduled for Friday, June 19. The full day of activities is built entirely around live sports broadcasts shown on the facility’s giant outdoor LED screen.

The June 19 lineup features two distinct pre-match rallies:

  • USA Pre-Match Party (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM): Clemson Athletics and Greenville Drive favorite DJ Sha will headline the outdoor stage ahead of the USA vs. Australia kickoff. The block includes free line dancing classes starting at 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM.

  • Latin Night Pre-Match Party (5:30 PM – 8:30 PM): Leading into the evening broadcast of Brazil vs. Haiti, DJ Santi will take over the music decks alongside Salsa Greenville, which is offering free public salsa lessons at 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM.

Food and drink specials from local food hall vendors will remain available throughout the all-day soccer celebration. Organizers emphasize that all watch party events are free and open to the public, though patrons are encouraged to arrive early to secure space in the beer garden.
