Clinton Public Works Reports Equipment Challenges Affecting Debris and Garbage Collection
June 15, 2026The City of Clinton is alerting residents to equipment problems within its Public Works Department that are expected to delay debris and garbage collection this week.
According to the city, two of its three clam trucks are currently inoperable, leaving a single clam truck available for service. As a result, the collection of limbs and man-made debris will continue as staffing and equipment allow, but city officials said it is unlikely that all collection routes will be completed this week. The shortened holiday work week is expected to add to the delay.
The city also reported that its automated garbage truck is experiencing electrical issues. While the vehicle remains operational, some of its lighting systems are not functioning properly. To protect the safety of employees and the traveling public, the city said additional safety lighting has been placed behind the truck during operations.
Officials said the Public Works team is working diligently and doing its best with the equipment currently available as repairs are made and normal operations are restored.
The city thanked residents for their patience, understanding, and cooperation during the disruption.
