Produce, Prayer and Purpose: The Story Behind a Highway 76 Stand
June 17, 2026A roadside produce stand on Highway 76 has become a gathering place for conversation, fellowship and prayer, offering visitors something well beyond the fruits and vegetables on its tables.
The stand was started in 2023 by Larry Bobo and Buddy Kinard, who saw a need in the community. At the time, no one in the area was selling good, fresh produce, and the two men set out to fill that gap.
In the fall of 2025, Mitchell Revis joined the operation, adding flowers, shrubs, mulch and pine needles to the stand’s offerings. All three men are retired and run the stand together.
For Revis, the stand quickly became something more than a place of business. It has grown into a place for outreach and prayer, where many visitors stop not only to shop but to talk, share their lives and even sit for a good Bible study.
One encounter stands out to him above the rest. A gentleman stopped by the stand one day and said he had heard Revis was a good Christian man. The man told him he needed prayer. The two walked out behind the stand together and prayed. Revis has prayed for him every day since.
“I personally don’t see the stand as a place of business, but as an outreach where I can meet many people and have an opportunity to pray for them and guide them to the one true path,” he said.
For the three retired men behind the tables, the stand on Highway 76 has become a ministry as much as a market, offering produce to those who need it and a listening ear to those who need that more.
