Agritourism Initiative Sparks Summer Rural Exploration in South Carolina
June 17, 2026Local farms are inviting South Carolina residents and visitors to explore the state’s agricultural roots this summer through an interactive agritourism passport program.
The “2026 Passport to South Carolina Farm Fun” initiative is officially underway, encouraging families to visit participating local farms, collect unique stamps, and earn “Certified SC” prizes along the way.
Putting Local Farms on the Map
The passport program divides the state into regional hubs, guiding travelers through the Upstate, Midlands, and Lowcountry regions. For small, family-owned operations, the initiative offers a major boost in visibility during peak harvest seasons.
JEB Berries Farm, located at 270 Cannon Bottom Road in Belton, announced it is featured on page 12 of this year’s passport booklet. The farm, known for its pesticide-free blueberry operations, is actively serving as a pickup location for travelers looking to start their agritourism journey.

A Boost for Rural Economies
The program highlights a diverse array of agricultural experiences across the Palmetto State. Featured destinations range from traditional u-pick berry patches to family-owned wineries and historic operations like LushAcres Farm in Clinton, a 150-year-old pasture-raised livestock and egg farm.
By gamifying the travel experience, state agritourism coordinators hope to drive foot traffic away from major highways and onto South Carolina’s scenic rural roads.
For participating farms like JEB Berries Farm—which operates Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—the passport is more than just a fun activity for families; it is a vital bridge connecting urban consumers directly to the people who grow their food.
