5th Annual Juneteenth celebration is tomorrow
June 18, 2026The City of Greenville will host its fifth annual Juneteenth celebration on Friday, June 19, from 9 a.m. to noon. Residents are invited to gather at 9 a.m. at Linky Stone Park, 24 Reedy View Drive, where community leaders will lead a commemorative walk to Unity Park, along the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
The event continues at 10 a.m., at the Prisma Health Welcome Center with:
- Keynote speaker, Dr. Jennifer Dixon-McKnight, Associate Professor of History and African American Studies at Winthrop University
- Special song performance by First Lady of Song Loretta Holloway
- Poetry reading by City Poet Laureate Glenis Redmond
The public is invited to enjoy fellowship and lunch immediately following, with food available for purchase from the food trucks on site. Prisma Health’s Mobile Clinic will be available for free health screenings.
