Upstate Elementary Schools Release 2026-2027 School Supply Lists, Helping Parents Prep Early

June 22, 2026

With the summer season officially underway, several local elementary schools across the Golden Strip area have released their comprehensive school supply lists for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year.

The early announcements from schools in Fountain Inn, Mauldin, and Simpsonville are designed to give local parents and guardians a head start on back-to-school preparations, allowing families to pace their seasonal shopping and take advantage of upcoming summer retail sales.

Fountain Inn Elementary Updates Guidelines

Fountain Inn Elementary School administration and faculty announced they are already preparing to welcome students—affectionately known as the Fireflies—back to the classroom. The school shared a few universal guidelines to ensure all students are properly equipped for daily instruction:

  • General Requirements: Regardless of grade level, all students are expected to bring a standard book bag and a reusable water bottle to school daily.

  • Headphone Preferences: For classroom technology use, the school explicitly notes that traditional headphones covering the ears are highly preferred over earbuds, citing comfort and better functionality for younger learners.

  • Brand Recommendations: While the school lists reputable name brands such as Ticonderoga, Expo, Elmer’s, Crayola, Kleenex, Ziploc, Fiskars, and Clorox, they emphasize that these brands are encouraged for quality purposes but are not strictly required.

The requirements reflect the shifting academic needs as students advance, moving from foundational materials like glue sticks and crayons in kindergarten to three-ring binders, graph paper, and wide-ruled composition notebooks in the fourth and fifth grades.

Mauldin and Simpsonville Finalize Lists

Joining Fountain Inn, other local campuses within the Greenville County Schools district have finalized their classroom expectations to help families streamline their shopping.

Mauldin Elementary School has officially published its grade-level requirements. Mirroring the district’s push for durable classroom tools, Mauldin’s lists for the younger grades prioritize full-sized backpacks, Ticonderoga #2 pencils, Elmer’s glue sticks, and multi-packs of Crayola crayons, markers, and colored pencils. Similar to Fountain Inn, Mauldin Elementary explicitly requests corded headphones rather than wireless options or earbuds for its incoming students.

Meanwhile, in Simpsonville, campuses like Oak View Elementary have also rolled out their finalized 2026-2027 lists. To simplify the process for busy parents, some area schools are partnering with external school supply kit services, which allow families to purchase pre-packaged, grade-specific bundles online ahead of the new school year.

Across all three communities, many grade-level lists feature a “Wish List” section. Teachers are asking families who are able to donate community classroom items—such as tissues, disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer—to help maintain clean, healthy learning environments from the first day of school to the last.
