City of Mauldin Prepares Week-Long Celebration for America’s 250th Anniversary

The City of Mauldin is stepping back in time to honor the nation’s history with a multi-day lineup of historical and patriotic events. The Mauldin Cultural Center is hosting “250th at Cultural Center,” a special commemorative series featuring guest speakers, living history, and live entertainment.
The scheduled events offer free entry to the public and span the end of June into early July:
Educational Speakers | Monday, June 29
The celebration kicks off inside the Mauldin Cultural Center with two distinct historical presentations exploring South Carolina’s pivotal role in the fight for independence:

11:30 AM: Lamar Nelson will discuss Native American involvement in the Revolutionary War.

7:00 PM: Mark C. Anthony will present “The Revolution Was Won in the Spartan District.”
Historical Reenactors | Wednesday, July 1
Beginning at 5:00 PM, the action moves outdoors to the Mauldin Outdoor Amphitheater. Visitors can interact with Revolutionary War-era reenactors who will bring colonial history to life throughout the amphitheater grounds.
Craft Demonstrations | Thursday, July 2
From 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, the Mauldin Cultural Center will host hands-on exhibitions of essential colonial-era skills. Attendees can discover traditional practices, including fabric spinning, natural fabric dyes, and historical plant medicine.
Amp’d Up Fridays: Patriotic Celebration | Friday, July 3
The week concludes with a massive, family-friendly celebration at the Mauldin Outdoor Amphitheater from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The evening’s lineup includes:

Live music from Smokey Jones & The 3 Dollar Pistols.

A performance of the National Anthem by Kati Lippman.

A formal presentation of the Colors by the Mauldin High School NJROTC and MHS Drum Line.
