Georgetown Tidal Tales turns ticket sales into meals for hungry families served by The Outreach Farm
July 1, 2026Georgetown Tidal Tales presented a donation of $673 to the Outreach Farm on Wednesday, July 1, during Outreach Farm’s monthly protein distribution, demonstrating how local arts and community service can work together to help feed neighbors across Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties.
The donation represents proceeds from Georgetown Tidal Tales’ June 13 performance and will help Outreach Farm continue its mission of providing protein to nonprofit organizations serving those experiencing food insecurity in our area.
“Storytelling has always been about bringing communities together,” said Janet Fricke, Executive Director of Georgetown Tidal Tales. “We’re honored that our audiences helped us support Outreach Farm and the incredible work they do each month to provide nutritious food for our neighbors.”
Founded in 2004, Outreach Farm partners with 32 nonprofit organizations, supplying chicken, beef, pork and fish to soup kitchens and other nonprofit organizations that feed those in need. In June alone, Outreach Farm distributed more than 3,350 pounds of protein—equivalent to nearly 27,000 servings. In 2025, Outreach Farm provided the equivalent of more than 300,000 protein servings. Demand for its services has increased by approximately 40 percent over the past year.
Outreach Farm is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2004 that provides protein to other nonprofit organizations serving individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties.
