Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Opens New Food Pantry to Serve Laurens County Families

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Laurens is launching a new food pantry aimed at providing more consistent support to families in need across the community.
The church announced the initiative this week, describing it as a step beyond its previous Blessing Box. Church leaders said a formal food pantry will allow them to better manage resources and reach more families with essential items on a sustained basis.
The inaugural distribution is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, from 1 to 2 p.m. After that, the pantry will operate on the third Thursday of every month during the same hours.
“We are grateful for your continued support and prayers,” said Pastor Harris in the announcement. He invited anyone in need to attend during the scheduled times.
