Laurens County Sheriff’s Office ‘Fill the Cruiser’ School Supply Drive Set for Friday
July 6, 2026The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office will host its annual “Fill the Cruiser” school supply collection drive on Friday, July 10, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chick-fil-A of Laurens.
The event, now just days away, will be held at the restaurant located at 917 E. Main Street in Laurens. The drive is for drop off only, and community members are invited to stop by throughout the morning to donate new school supplies and monetary donations in support of local students preparing for the upcoming school year.
Each year, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office provides bookbags and school supplies to children across Laurens County. Through the generosity of the community, the office is able to help students begin the school year with the tools they need to succeed and the confidence to walk into the classroom ready to learn.
Organizers are seeking the following items:
- Bookbags (clear and regular)
- Notebooks
- Packs of paper
- Pencils and erasers
- Sharpeners
- Folders
- Binders
- Graph paper
- Glue
- Highlighters and markers
- Crayons
- Colored pencils
- Pens and markers
Monetary donations will also be accepted.
“Every child deserves to walk into the classroom on the first day feeling ready and confident,” said Courtney Snow, public information officer for Community Services. “With the event just days away, we are asking the community to help us spread the word so we can make sure no student starts the year without the supplies they need.”
Supplies collected during the drive will be distributed at the annual Back to School Bash on Friday, July 24. To receive supplies at the Back to School Bash, participants must be residents of Laurens County.
