The City of Clinton will host its rescheduled Juneteenth celebration this Thursday, July 9, in downtown Clinton.

The free community gathering, billed as “A Celebration of Freedom,” runs from 6 to 8 p.m. in the parking lot at 122 E. Main Street. The event was postponed from its original date because of weather and moved to this week.

The evening will feature live music by The Band Levelz, food trucks and what organizers describe as a night of community, culture and connection. Attendees are invited to join neighbors in honoring the significance of Juneteenth, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States.
