Capital City/Lake Murray Country celebrates Amy Hoffman’s 20 years of dedicated service
July 7, 2026Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) celebrates Amy Roof Hoffman as she marks 20 years of service to the organization, honoring a career that has helped shape the growth of the organization and the success of tourism throughout the Capital City/Lake Murray Country region.
A graduate of Columbia College, Hoffman began her career in the events industry as Events Coordinator for the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce. After six years there, she joined CCLMC on July 3, 2006, as Special Events/Membership Coordinator.
In her early years with CCLMC, Hoffman led the planning and execution of many of the organization’s signature events, including Taste of Lake Murray and the annual Lake Murray’s Independence Day Celebration. Under her leadership, both events grew into the beloved community and visitor traditions they are today. She also coordinated major national fishing tournaments and events at the Historic Lorick Plantation Home and Lake Murray Country Visitors Center, helping showcase Richland, Lexington, Newberry, and Saluda counties to visitors from across the country.
After returning to CCLMC in 2015 as Accounting Bookkeeper, Hoffman became an integral part of the organization’s daily operations, overseeing financial management, payroll, the Visitor Center Gift Shop, and administrative functions. During a leadership transition in 2025, she stepped into the role of Interim President before assuming her current position as Senior Director of Operations, where she continues to provide operational leadership and support the organization’s mission.
Throughout her career, Hoffman has played a key role in many of CCLMC’s most significant accomplishments, including helping establish the Capital City/Lake Murray Country region as an internationally recognized bass fishing destination and one of the South’s premier travel destinations.
“Amy’s impact can’t be measured by a calendar,” said Vickie Davis, Executive Director of CCLMC. “It is measured by the visitors she has welcomed, the communities she has served, and the legacy she continues to build, personally and professionally.”
Hoffman’s dedication has earned recognition beyond the organization. In 2013, the South Carolina General Assembly adopted a concurrent resolution commending her outstanding service to CCLMC, recognizing her leadership in producing Taste of Lake Murray, supporting Lake Murray’s Independence Day Celebration, and promoting tourism throughout the region.
As CCLMC celebrates this milestone, the organization extends its heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Amy Roof Hoffman for her 20 years of exceptional service. Her dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment have left a lasting impact on the organization, its partners, and the communities it proudly represents. CCLMC looks forward to her continued leadership and many more years of success.
