SC Hunters for the Hungry Seeks Volunteer Region Coordinators Statewide

July 7, 2026

SC Hunters for the Hungry is expanding its statewide network and is recruiting volunteer region coordinators to serve as the local link between the organization and the hunters, meat processors and community agencies in their areas.

The nonprofit works to feed South Carolina families by connecting hunters with processors and local food agencies. Organizers said the coordinator role is built for residents who know their communities and want to help address hunger, and that no prior experience is required.

According to the group, region coordinators help connect the organization with local hunters, build relationships with processors and extend its reach into counties that have not yet been served. Organizers described the position as the boots-on-the-ground connection between the mission and the people who carry it out.

The organization said that the more coordinators it has, the more families it can reach. The role is a volunteer position, and organizers noted that there is no commitment required simply to start a conversation about it.
