Clinton Planning Commission to Hold Public Hearing on Highway 56 South Annexation
July 12, 2026The City of Clinton Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Tuesday, July 14, at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at the M.S. Bailey Municipal Center, 211 N. Broad St., Suite A.
The commission will consider a proposed annexation and amendments to the City of Clinton zoning map involving approximately 283.12 acres on Highway 56 South. The affected property is identified as Tax Map Numbers 617-00-00-015, 617-00-00-016 and 617-00-00-028.
The proposal calls for annexation into the City of Clinton with several zoning designations: A-R (Agricultural Residential), R-1 (Single-Family Residential), RS-2, RS-3 and C-3 (General Commercial).
Property owners adjacent to the proposed annexation area are being notified of the request.
Documents related to the case are available for public inspection in the Planning Department at the M.S. Bailey Municipal Center during normal business hours. City officials encourage interested residents to attend and participate in the hearing.
