Raising the Bar on Entertainment
Music and culture enthusiasts will find themselves steps away from some of the most preeminent artists in entertainment today. Highlights of the powerhouse season include:
- Rock & Blues Legends: Blistering guitar performances by Gary Clark, Jr. and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and raw blues rock from the legendary ZZ Top.
- Roots, Folk, & Americana: The storytelling magic of the Indigo Girls with Linda Perry, the soulful mastery of Keb’ Mo’, and the blazing cosmic country sounds of Daniel Donato.
- Global Icons & Celebrated Voices: Five-time Grammy winner and internationally renowned Angélique Kidjo graces the Concert Hall stage, as well as American Patchwork Quartet, whose globally celebrated sound is rooted in South Carolina’s Gullah culture.
- Brilliant Minds & Big Laughs: An evening with beloved culinary queen Ina Garten, a night of cosmic exploration with celebrity astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and hilarious comedy with Rodney Carrington.
The Pinnacle of Performance
The season also includes mesmerizing movement and culturally important musical styling, featuring:
- Illusionary and Boundary-Pushing Dance: A stellar dance series featuring the surreal choreography of Momix, the acrobatic wonder of Pilobolus, and the jaw-dropping, gravity-defying spectacle of Italy’s NoGravity Theatre — a mind-blowing illusionary performance that must be seen to be believed.
- Inspiring Instrumentals, Visionary Violins: An unforgettable night with GRAMMY and Emmy Award-winning neo-soul instrumentalist Braxton Cook, and a rare opportunity to experience two classical powerhouses on one stage: Midori & Festival Strings Lucerne.
