July 15, 2026

Funds were raised through the seventh annual Superhero 5K for Autism

Fountain Inn Police Chief Patrick Fortenberry presented a check for $24,198.97 to Lu Grant of Friends of the Little White House during the Fountain Inn City Council meeting on Thursday, July 9.

The donation represents proceeds from the seventh annual Superhero 5K for Autism, hosted by the Fountain Inn Police Department on April 18. Since beginning in 2019, the event has brought together participants of all ages and abilities to promote autism awareness, celebrate inclusion and support the individuals and families served by Friends of the Little White House.

“We are grateful for the community’s support, which allows us to make this meaningful contribution to an organization making a difference in the lives of families throughout our community,” said Police Chief Patrick Fortenberry. “This event is made possible by the generosity of our sponsors, participants, volunteers and community partners.”

Friends of the Little White House supports children, young adults and families affected by autism and other developmental disabilities through educational and therapeutic programs, family support and community resources. The organization works to help individuals reach their full potential while providing valuable assistance to their caregivers and families.

“Once again, I appreciate Fountain Inn’s support,” Grant said during the presentation. “You have been wonderful to us, and we appreciate it every year.”

The Fountain Inn Police Department extends its appreciation to everyone who registered, sponsored, volunteered, donated or supported the 2026 Superhero 5K. Each contribution helped transform a community event into a meaningful investment in local individuals and families.
