Fortified Solar expanding Greenville County operations with $22.75M investment, 151 new jobs
July 21, 2026Fortified Solar, a U.S. manufacturer of custom steel roofing systems with building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) technology, is expanding its operations in Greenville County with a $22.75 million investment expected to create more than 151 new jobs.
Founded in 2020 by Travelers Rest entrepreneur Justin Draplin, the company manufactures steel solar roofing systems for commercial and residential projects, along with solar carports, canopies and storage solutions. Fortified Solar currently operates a manufacturing facility in Taylors.
The expansion includes a new operation at 10 A. D. Asbury Road in Greenville that will increase the company’s manufacturing, production and operational capacity. The existing and new facilities are operational, with new manufacturing lines expected to reach full production by October 2026.
“This expansion is an important milestone as we invest in American manufacturing, increase production capacity and create new jobs,” Fortified Solar CEO Justin Draplin said. “Greenville County has been a strong foundation for our growth.”
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits for the project and awarded a $150,000 Set-Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with building improvements.
