Joint Hurricane Prep Town Hall & Resource Expo announced for Horry and Georgetown counties

MURRELLS INLET, SC — Emergency management teams and nonprofit professionals from Horry and Georgetown counties are coming together to host a joint Hurricane Prep Town Hall & Expo  on Monday, August 10 at 6:00 pm to help local residents and families prepare for the upcoming hurricane season.

Under the banner “Be Prepared. Be Informed. Be Together.” this community event will offer valuable information, direct access to emergency response officials, and preparedness resources provided by regional disaster organizations. It will be held at the  Murrells Inlet Community Center (4462 Murrells Inlet Road, Murrells Inlet, SC).

There are a number of local organizations participating in the community event, including Horry County Emergency Management, Georgetown County Emergency Management, American Red Cross, Waccamaw VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster), and Winyah Bay COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster).

All residents of Horry and Georgetown counties are encouraged to attend to gather resources, ask questions, and ensure their families and property are fully prepared.
