CLASS announces August Moveable Feast schedule featuring award-winning authors and compelling new reads

CLASS (Cultural and Learning Arts School Series) has announced its August 2026 lineup for The Moveable Feast, its long-running weekly luncheon series connecting readers with authors, historians, and artists at premier local dining spots.

Celebrating its 29th year under founder and manager Linda Ketron, The Moveable Feast features an author presentation followed by a custom lunch prepared by each host venue’s culinary team. All luncheons take place on Tuesdays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with ticket prices generally set at $40.

August 2026 Lineup:

  • Tuesday, August 4 — Elizabeth Hatcher True (The Cost of Being True) at Caffe Piccolo 

    Author Elizabeth Hatcher True presents her captivating novel exploring generations of secrets, class codes, and hidden truths within a 1965 Columbia, South Carolina family.

  • Tuesday, August 11 — Jackie Friedland (Breathing Under Water) at Litchfield Country Club

    Bestselling author and former attorney Jackie Friedland shares her deeply moving story of two women whose lives intersect around family challenges, sacrifice, and teaching swim lessons to children with autism.

  • Tuesday, August 18 — Lynn Genda (My Name is John, John Cooke) at The Village House (Note: Venue Change)

    Local author Lynn Genda brings history to life through a benchside conversation between her famous ancestor, Mayflower passenger John Cooke, and a fictional 1690s gentleman from Dartmouth.
