Crime Stoppers tip leads to three arrests in Laurens County

An anonymous tip submitted through Laurens County Crime Stoppers led to the removal of four children and one vulnerable adult from a Laurens County home and the arrest of three people, the organization announced.
The tip was received July 2 and requested a welfare check on children, according to Crime Stoppers. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responded immediately and found the home in what the organization described as deplorable condition. Four children and one vulnerable adult were removed from the residence, and three people were arrested.
Board Chairman John Young credited the tipster with prompting the response.
“This arrest highlights the critical role that Crime Stoppers and vigilant citizens play in our mission to protect the public,” Young said. “Five lives were changed, four of those being small children under the age of 5 years old. Children who should never have to live the way they were living. Working together can yield powerful results.”
The tipster’s identity remains confidential, as guaranteed by the Crime Stoppers program. An undisclosed cash reward was issued for the information.
